Creative Ways To Display Artwork
If you have a favorite piece of art but are unsure as to how to display it, there are a couple of different options to choose from. You can easily go beyond simply hanging the piece of artwork on the wall. Choose from one of these creative ways to display your art instead.
Use Ribbon to Hang Art on the Wall
Rather than simply putting a nail in the wall, use ribbon to hang the art from the wall instead. The right ribbon will add to the art and complement it well. Hang ribbon either from a hook or screw in the middle of the back of the art piece or from both sides. Use a small nail or place a hook on the wall to hang it from. Especially if you end up using more than one ribbon to hang it by, you want to be sure that the artwork hangs evenly on the wall.
Place Artwork on a Decorative Shelf
A decorative shelf makes a great place to display art in your home. You should be able to find all different types of decorative shelves and ledges that will add to the beauty of the piece of art you want to display.
Just be sure that the size of the shelf is adequate for the size of the piece. Instead of displaying only one piece, you might also choose to display a collection of art on the shelf. Before placing any artwork on your shelf or ledge, its important to be sure that its properly installed on the wall.
Use a Fireplace Mantel to Display Art
A nice fireplace mantel makes a great display area for your art, which will also work to draw more attention to the mantel itself. Rather than going the traditional route of hanging the artwork above the mantel, try placing the piece on the mantel and up against the wall instead.
Although the artwork should be smaller than the mantel, you dont want a piece thats so small that you dont really see the art against the larger mantel. If necessary, place two or three smaller pieces of art on the mantel, rather than just sticking with one small one. Do be sure to secure the piece of art so it wont fall down off the mantel.
Find Unique Hangers for the Art
You probably havent even considered some of the unique things you can use to hang artwork on the wall. A great option is your favorite stocking holder, which can be nailed to the wall and used to hold your favorite piece of art.
For another unique artwork hanger, find a rope or a chain that you can hang from the ceiling or the top of the wall. You can actually hang a few pieces from it either vertically or horizontally, depending on the length of the wall. By hanging your pieces of art across a blank wall, you are essentially creating something like a clothesline.
